Immunization Clinics Set for Students Heading Back-to-School
RENO, NEV. (July 15, 2013)—Summer break is winding down and now is the time for children and teens to receive school-required immunizations. Starting Monday, August 12, Washoe County students head back to the classroom and University of Nevada, Reno students follow closely behind with classes beginning Monday, August 26. Children heading into daycare, elementary, middle school and college are required, by Nevada State Law, to be compliant and up-to-date with their immunizations.
April 30, 2013—(Reno, Nev.) Immunize Nevada, Washoe County Health District and Washoe County School District are partnering to offer students Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine) and annual flu vaccinations this May. Clinics will be held at area schools through May 16 on a first-come, first-serve basis. The clinics target students who will enter 7th grade next fall, but are also open to anyone due for a Tdap booster or flu vaccine. Fees may apply.
Immunize Nevada Launches Pilot Text4baby Project to Connect Nevada Resources with Moms
RENO, Nev. (March 19, 2013) – Immunize Nevada and the Nevada State Maternal and Child Health Division are partnering with text4baby to test a resource module targeting pregnant women and new mothers. Through the convenience of texting, pregnant women and new mothers can receive immunization information, personalized appointment reminders, health alerts, and nutrition advice in the palm of their hand.
15th Annual Silver Syringe Awards Recognizes Immunization Success in 2012

(March 4, 2013)—Immunize Nevada is holding its annual Silver Syringe Awards to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who work to protect Nevadans from vaccine-preventable diseases. The 15th annual Silver Syringe Awards takes place Thursday, March 14 at Grand Sierra Resort at 6:30 p.m.
Free Churchill County Childhood Immunization Clinic
What:
The Nevada State Health Division will offer free childhood immunizations for newborns to children up to six years old. All recommended childhood immunizations will be available. Also, a limited number of free flu vaccine will also be available from Walgreens for adults and children nine and older.
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Awards Immunize Nevada $20,000 Grant for Influenza Education and Outreach
RENO, Nev. (November 21, 2012)—Immunize Nevada, a statewide nonprofit network of individuals, businesses, public health entities and organizations committed to improving immunization rates in Nevada, was awarded a $20,000 grant from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. The grant allows Immunize Nevada to extend its annual influenza outreach to seniors throughout the state.
Free Flu and Tdap Immunizations at School Located Clinics
Immunize Nevada, Washoe County Health District and Washoe County School District are partnering to provide students with free flu and Tdap vaccinations this fall beginning Tuesday, October 9.
