AmeriCorps

What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps engages approximately 75,000 men and women in intensive service each year at more than 21,000 locations including nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and community and faith-based groups across the country. AmeriCorps members help communities tackle pressing problems while mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve. Specifically, AmeriCorps State & National members engage in a diverse range of direct service projects at local, regional, and national organizations to address critical community needs of disaster services, economic opportunity, education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship and veterans and military families.

Members gain valuable professional, educational, and life benefits, and the experience has a lasting impact on the members and the communities they serve.

Members receive a living allowance stipend and the Eli Segal Education Award. For more information on AmeriCorps, please visit their website here.
