Recently Released Immunization Survey Shines Light on Nevada’s Teen Immunization Rates
The 2018 NIS-Teen Survey highlights a positive trend: Nevada teen males who are up-to-date on the HPV vaccination series increased by 7.4 percentage points compared to 2017 rates. However, HPV vaccination rates among females displayed a downward trend; Nevada teen females who are up-to-date on the HPV vaccination series decreased by 3.5 percentage points.

The Rotary Club of Reno Centennial Sunset and Immunize Nevada celebrate Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate Polio worldwide by hosting its 10th Annual Polio Purple Pinkie Trail Run/Walk at the beautiful trails around Washoe County’s Rancho San Rafael Park on May 4, 2019 at 10:00 am. This year marks an entire decade of raising awareness about polio in northern Nevada.

Long story short, my son got his MenB vaccine while on summer vacation. Not exactly on his bucket list of fun things to do, but he did get to relax at the pool; and I got to relax knowing he was on his way to being fully protected against meningococcal disease!
As you are getting ready to graduate, your mind is probably filled with final exams, summer plans, college or career next steps, travel and much more. It’s important to add one more critical thing to that list: getting vaccinated for the many diseases that are preventable.
