Local Rotary Club Teams and Immunize Nevada to Present
10K Run and 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Polio

April 1, 2019 – Reno, NV – The Rotary Club of Reno Centennial Sunset and Immunize Nevada celebrate Rotary International’s efforts to eradicate Polio worldwide by hosting its 10th Annual Polio Purple Pinkie Trail Run/Walk at the beautiful trails around Washoe County’s Rancho San Rafael Park on May 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. This year marks an entire decade of raising awareness about polio in northern Nevada.

As one of Northern Nevada’s most beloved parks, Rancho San Rafael offers stunning views of the area. The terrain offers challenges and thrills for runners of all skill levels. Trail running is gaining popularity among runners nationally. This run is the first trail race of Reno’s preeminent racing season. The event features a state-of-the-art timing system service, which will text message race results instantly, refreshments (including a beer and food truck), local business exhibits, professional photography, and a fun time for the whole family! There will be branded mugs for first place in several age brackets. For more information and to register, please visit www.RenoPolioRun.com.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Rotary Foundation’s Polio Plus Fund, the RCS Rotary Foundation Inc., and Immunize Nevada. Since the inaugural Polio Purple Pinkie Trail Run, over $42,500 has been raised and donated toward the eradication of polio. For more information on how the funds are used, please visit www.RenoPolioRun.com.
