Reno Immunization Clinics for Students Heading Back-to-School

RENO, NEV. (August 5, 2015)— Summer break is almost over and now is the time for children and teens to receive school-required immunizations. Starting Monday, August 10, Washoe County students head back to the classroom and University of Nevada, Reno students follow closely behind with classes beginning Monday, August 24.

Children heading into daycare, elementary, middle school and college are required, by Nevada State Law, to be compliant and up-to-date with their immunizations.

Parents can easily access their child’s immunization records by contacting their healthcare provider, visiting Nevada WebIZ’s parent portal at https://izrecord.nv.gov or by calling the Nevada WebIZ helpdesk at (775) 684-5954.

All students entering 7th grade must get a Tdap booster shot to enter school.

Where to Get Immunizations:

Immunize Nevada recommends parents first check with their children’s primary healthcare provider to receive the required back-to-school immunizations. Those children without a medical home can access the following events or community clinics offering back-to-school immunizations. Immunization costs vary, and those children without insurance qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC).
