Exciting News for the New Year!
As we welcome 2015 and look ahead at the many important immunization initiatives and health activities already in progress, we are thrilled to share some very exciting news!

In November 2014, the SNIHC Board of Directors voted to end their fiscal sponsor relationship with St. Rose Dominican Hospital and join together with Immunize Nevada to streamline resources, strengthen programs and expand its capacity to serve southern Nevada. This strategic decision acknowledges the long-time support provided by St. Rose Dominican Hospital, honors the solid foundation created by the partnership, and sets the tone for an even prosperous relationship.

For the last few years, SNIHC and Immunize Nevada have collaborated on statewide projects to assure alignment of priorities and to avoid duplication of services. By joining together, we can now function as a true statewide coalition through one cohesive strategy, message and mission.

Most importantly, the decision to become one, united, statewide 501c3 nonprofit organization strengthens our teams to more efficiently meet the health needs of our partners and communities to increase immunization rates across Nevada.

Not surprisingly, the missions and vision of each organization are very complementary, as are our many outreach and communications activities. Moving forward, Immunize Nevada will evolve to represent SNIHC by consolidating and updating tools such as our logo, websites, social media pages, monthly correspondence, meetings and events such as Silver Syringe. We are also evaluating technology options that will allow partners to evenutally participate in Immunize Nevada community meetings simultaneously in Reno, Las Vegas and Elko on the first Thursday of each month. Meetings will resume on February 5th.

Finally, we're opening a new office in Las Vegas and adding a Director level position to its team. We've also budgeted to hire an additional program manager to help lead the effort to meet the growing health care needs of the southern Nevada community, our partners and the statewide Immunize Nevada team.

As we thoughtfully and strategically move forward, we anticipate the transition to be seamless to community partners. We invite you to take advantage of the many ways to get involved with Immunize Nevada, including applying to join our board of directors or professional council, volunteering in the office or at community events, or participating on one of our mission-focused committees.

The important work we do of promoting health and preventing disease is not possible without our partners, and therefore, we welcome your thoughts, concerns and questions.

Warm regards,
