#TeamVaccine is Thankful

#TeamVaccine has so much to be thankful for. Whether it's working with our incredible immunization partners or helping to shape the next generation of public health leaders, our team is happy for the opportunity to express our gratitude to those who help further our mission of promoting health and preventing disease.

David Pérez, Public Relations Coordinator: We greatly appreciate our media partners and media contacts who choose to spread the messages of the effectiveness of vaccines and how they help keep our community protected against deadly diseases. In the age of rampant spreading of health misinformation on social media, now, more than ever, we count on the support of our media partners to spread accurate and factual information to keep Nevadans healthy and protected. Thank you to all our media partners.

Tara Nerida, Outreach Manager: Immunize Nevada is so grateful for all of the different community partners we work with to ensure that all Nevadans are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. We have been fortunate to build a strong team of coalition members, immunizers, and monthly community meeting attendees who are dedicated to the health of Nevadans. We owe a great deal of our success to all community partners, so thank you!

Carol Luna, AmeriCorps Program Manager: I am grateful for the AmeriCorps members’ enthusiasm and energy in helping our community. The team is inspiring in how they want to improve public health and educate others. I appreciate their great dedication and focus on “getting things done” to keep families and individuals healthy. They are making a difference every day!

Rachel Quattrin, Service Enterprise Coordinator: This year, I am thankful for the support of our volunteers and interns throughout Southern and Northern Nevada. During the short amount of time in my position as the Volunteer Coordinator at Immunize Nevada, I've gotten to know so many of our volunteers on a deeper level. Our volunteers and interns are always eager to help out at events and work on projects dedicated to increasing Nevada's immunization rates. They have dedicated countless hours for our organization, and it just wouldn't be the same without them. Thanks a million!

Bobbi Tedesco, Outreach Specialist: On this Thanksgiving, I want to recognize all of the Healthy Young Nevada Youth Advisory Council members for their hard work and dedication in providing accessible resources to their peers! It is beyond inspiring to see the way that these young people empower their community. Their positivity, innovation, and confidence motivate me everyday, and I am so thankful to know them!

America Davis, Communications Coordinator: I am so thankful for our social media followers! In this age of misinformation across platforms, it means so much to have our followers sharing our content with there own networks. This helps ensure that our messages are getting out to people and that our community has the evidence-based information they need when they make choices for their family. Thanks for all your likes!

Breanne Van Dyne, Education Manager: I am beyond grateful for our fantastic NILE webinar speakers; our coalition is so fortunate to have formed partnerships with many cross-disciplinary professionals who are willing to donate their time and share their expertise monthly. Thank you to everyone who takes time out of their busy schedules to present. The content you share not only benefits Nevadans, but the attendees who tune in for our webinars who reside in communities throughout the country.

Heidi Parker, Executive Director: Thanksgiving gives me an opportunity to reflect on how incredibly grateful I am for the time, talent, and treasure given to us by the members of Team Vaccine - our staff, board members, grantors, corporate sponsors, individual donors, vendors, and those providing services in-kind. The community impact made by Immunize Nevada across our state would not be possible without the generous support we receive from everyone mentioned in this post. Our mission helps protect Nevadans and saves lives everyday. But don't just take our word for it, this mom shares her thanks too.

A mom called about us needing immunizations to get her kids up to date for school but without insurance, she was told it would be close to $300 for the shots. After being told about our no-cost resources she burst into tears. "I didn't know how I was going to pay for this. This program is awesome and I am so thankful."
