Hiring Multiple CHW positions in the following locations:
COVID-19 and Flu: Rural Nevada - White Pine and/or Humboldt counties
Immunize Nevada's Community Health Workers work closely and communicate effectively with families, seniors, persons with disabilities, socioeconomically disadvantaged, uninsured or underinsured, pregnant women, child care age & school-age children, community organizations/partners/agencies, faith-based organizations, etc. They may also support immunization and outreach efforts of local community health nurses and/or health districts.
Position responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Conduct education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy
- Utilize partnerships with community partners and stakeholders to address vaccine access challenges among targeted populations
- Work with community vaccinators to fund and/or organize community-based clinics to reach target audiences and increase vaccine uptake
- Activities follow federal, state, and local guidelines and protocols for COVID-19 prevention
Position information:
Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours a week
Fully grant-funded through June 2022. Position continuation will be dependent on additional funding.

Pay range: $22-24/hour, depending on experience
Position requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency
CHW I or CHW II certification
Knowledge of local health disparities and resources to address those disparities
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance required
Read, write, and speak Spanish preferred
Other applicants with equivalent public health work experience and training may be considered and complete CHW training while on the job.
