Outreach Program Assistant
Summary:
Reporting to the Outreach and Volunteer Manager, the Outreach Program Assistant is responsible for responding to emails, phone calls, and voicemail, leading outreach tables and events, and assisting with the dissemination of PINK packets.
- Respond to emails and voicemails from Info email and COVIDVax email inboxes.
- Answer phones in a professional manner, providing answers when possible and transferring calls or taking messages when needed.
- Assist with distribution of the community PINK (Protect and Immunize Nevada’s Kids) portfolio project.
- Coordinate Healthy Young Nevada Youth Advisory Council. Participate in meetings, content development and event planning.
- Manages all elements of Healthy Young NV, including social media creation, blog development, and ensures website is up to date.
- Provide feedback and assist with the distribution of flyers for organizations to provide new moms reputable information regarding the health of their newborn. Flyer will contain a list of reputable online resources.
- Recruit organizations that are not participating in the PINK packets.
- Assist with dissemination of PINK information to community partners such as, but not limited to, WIC, OB GYN provider offices serving Medicaid enrollees.
- Assist with maintaining immunizenevada.org including, but not limited to mobile content, blogs, calendar events and education opportunities/immunization resources, etc.
- Participate in outreach tables and events during the week, evening, and weekend hours.
- Ability to communicate in small and large groups.
- Complies with all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability), and other regulations and requirements
Position information:
- Part-time, non-exempt, 25 hours a week.
- Fully grant-funded through June 2024. Position continuation will be dependent on additional funding.
- Benefits include PTO, Nevada and Federal holidays, mileage reimbursement, and more.
- Pay range: $25/hour
Position requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a health science, behavioral science, or closely related field applicable to the program area.
- Two years of health-related experience which includes researching, developing objectives, protocols, and procedures, providing health education services to target groups or the public, and/or investigation and prevention of communicable or chronic diseases; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of local health disparities and resources to address those disparities.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance required.
- Read, write, and speak Spanish preferred
