Tara Nerida, MPH

As Immunize Nevada’s Project and Volunteer Coordinator, Tara is responsible for recruiting, supervising, and managing volunteers, as well as assisting with community outreach events.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences, with a minor in Chemistry, from Northern Arizona University in 2014. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in May 2017 with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health.

Prior to working with Immunize Nevada, she worked as a Graduate Assistant for Wellness Promotion at UNLV, where she developed, implemented, and assessed programs that educated the UNLV community about college health topics, such as alcohol awareness, safe sex, stress management, nutrition, etc. She also assisted in restarting and redeveloping the Healthy Rebels registered student organization program. Tara also served as the President of the Healthy Rebels. She trained nearly 40 Healthy Rebels to become nationally certified peer educators through the BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA. She also trained the Healthy Rebels to develop and implement health programs and presentations around the UNLV campus.

Because of her involvement and dedication to the Healthy Rebels, Tara was awarded as a BACHHUS Outstanding Student of 2016. She was also recognized by the UNLV community for her dedication to health and wellness by being awarded with a UNLV Rebel Award in 2017 for student commitment to health and wellness.
