Immunize Nevada is pleased to host this training via toll-free web-conference. This program is pending one free nursing CEU. Attendees wishing to obtain a CEU must complete a pre- and post-test evaluation.

Program:
Over the course of the hour, Karissa Loper, MPH, from the Nevada State Immunization Program will provide an overview of the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and what being a VFC provider entails. Additionally, an overall program update will be provided for those providers who are currently involved in the VFC Program.

Learning Objectives Include:
1. Understand the VFC Program and what it provides
2. Know how to enroll in the VFC Program and who are the important IZ Program contacts
3. Understand the recent changes that have been made to the VFC Program
4. Understand the special projects the IZ Program will be rolling out in 2013

Featured Presenter:
Karissa Loper, MPH

Karissa Loper received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Nevada, Reno with an emphasis in healthcare administration, program planning and policy development. Karissa now works for the Nevada State Immunization Program as the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) manager. As the state’s VFC manager, Karissa locates medical providers throughout Nevada who are not enrolled in the VFC Program and send recruitment materials as well as immunization coverage statistics for their area of Nevada. In addition, Karissa completes VFC initial enrollment and new staff orientations as requested by provider’s offices. Prior to graduating from the University of Nevada, Karissa was the graduate research assistant for Dr. Daniel Cook at the University of Nevada and also worked as the administrative assistant for the Director of the Division of Medical Humanities and Ethics at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
