Immunize Nevada offers northern Nevadans a chance to see the highly praised documentary, Invisible Threat. This powerful documentary on vaccines focuses on understanding the science of vaccination and the misconceptions causing parents to delay or decline immunizations. Following the film will be a discussion panel of local public health experts discussing the film and vaccines

Panel experts include: Trudy Larson, MD, Director of the School of Community Health Sciences at the University of Nevada; Andrew Pasternak, MD at Silver Sage Center for Family Medicine; Steve Kutz, RN, MPH, Division Director, Community and Clinical Health Services, Washoe County Health District; and, Jenny Durnan Petty, Reno Moms Blog co-founder and mother of two children.

This event is part of National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW), April 26 to May 3. The purpose of NIIW is to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases. The showing of Invisible Threat also aims to educate and promote the use of vaccines through personal testimonials.
