Northern and Southern Nevada Immunization Coalitions

As Nevada continues to rank as one of our nation’s fastest growing states, the challenge of protecting our state’s health has grown concurrently. In addition, Nevada continues to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors from across our nation and around the world into our state every year, also welcoming in any diseases that they bring. Therefore implementing proven strategies to keep immunity against vaccine-preventable diseases high in our communities is paramount.

The Nevada Immunization Coalitions (NIC) is a diverse partnership of individuals, businesses and organizations committed to improving and protecting the health of children, teens, adults, and seniors in Nevada. Our mission is to promote health and prevent the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases in Nevada through community partnerships and education. Each regional coalition has a community board that addresses immunization issues at the local level through developing partnerships and organizing special projects, while supporting our statewide initiative of increasing our immunization rates. Our vision is to have at least 80% of Nevada's 2-year olds appropriately immunized by 2010, and to encourage appropriate immunizations throughout the life span.
